Czech koruna is the budgeting unit
Use CZK, also written Kč, for local expenses. VisitCzechia provides practical guidance on currency and payments. If a merchant quotes a euro amount, compare the final price with the koruna amount instead of assuming the conversion is favourable.

At an exchange desk, compare the net CZK amount for the same home-currency budget. A prominently displayed rate can be insufficient to describe the full offer. Keep the receipt and verify the money before leaving the counter.
Check notes left over from an earlier trip
Certain CZK 100–2000 notes with a narrow silver thread became invalid in July 2022. They are not the same as the remaining valid designs. Check the CNB’s illustrated guide and exchange instructions before bringing older cash to a shop.
