A fixed unpaid budget, not a suggested holiday price
We use NOK 10,000 solely as an illustrative amount still to be paid. Local spending is held constant, with no paid bookings, reserve or fees. This is not a price estimate for a holiday in Norway. The separate SEK 10,000 report uses a different currency amount, not an equivalent travel basket; comparing the two does not rank destination prices. Scaling the amount scales the calculated costs proportionally.
The same Norwegian-krone budget, three home currencies
24 matching observations out of 30 UTC calendar dates (2026-09-01–2026-09-30). 6 dates have no complete quote for this comparison. The longest interval between retained dates is 3 days.

What the recorded data tells us
USD: Between the first and last matching observations, the reference cost changed by -28.84 USD (-2.69%). Across the recorded dates, the difference between the lowest and highest costs was 45.59 USD.
EUR: Between the first and last matching observations, the reference cost changed by -2.85 EUR (-0.31%). Across the recorded dates, the difference between the lowest and highest costs was 16.00 EUR.
GBP: Between the first and last matching observations, the reference cost changed by -2.75 GBP (-0.35%). Across the recorded dates, the difference between the lowest and highest costs was 15.07 GBP.
A fixed NOK amount can change differently in USD, EUR and GBP because both the Norwegian krone and the chosen home currency affect the cross rate. A first-to-last change is not the same as the range across all retained dates. Neither records what a traveller actually paid, nor predicts a future rate.
Putting the movement beside an explicit fee example
The costs above exclude provider fees. A separate illustrative USD 1,000 budget with a USD 10 fixed fee plus 2% of that full budget loses USD 30 to fees, leaving USD 970 to exchange. Those are demonstration inputs, not charges recorded for the NOK 10,000 scenario or a provider tariff. Enter your own budget, quote and fee convention in the linked calculator.

For each retained UTC date, cost in the home currency = 10,000 × the archived USD value of one NOK ÷ the archived USD value of one home-currency unit. We select the latest recorded archive row for each date, then require USD, EUR, GBP, SEK and NOK to be finite and positive. Both Nordic reports therefore use exactly the same dates. Each retained date has equal weight in the mean. Missing values are not filled and the current UTC day is excluded.
This immutable subset comes from the production history API response captured at the timestamp below. September has 24 complete matching observations across 30 calendar dates; six dates are missing or incomplete for the five-currency comparison. The archive combines earlier imported values and service snapshots; full row-level upstream provenance was not retained for every older entry. UTC dates are archive labels, not proof of an exact upstream quote time or a market close. Extrema describe only retained samples.
We hold the local amount constant. The calculations omit exchange spreads, provider fees, interest, inflation, settlement timing and actual card debits. A daily sampled range cannot identify the best hour, predict a future rate or prove that waiting would help.
Download and reproduce the calculation
Each JSON row starts with an archived Unix timestamp in milliseconds, followed by USD values per currency unit in the order listed in codes. Null means unavailable. Both Nordic files retain USD, EUR, GBP, SEK and NOK; the CSV includes only their complete matching dates and calculated costs before display rounding. The source checksum identifies the full captured API response, not the downloaded subset JSON.
