BRL/CNH: what to know
The BRL/CNH rate shows how much CNH you get for 1 BRL. Right now, 1 BRL buys 1.3101 CNH at the mid-market rate. In the other direction, 1 CNH is worth 0.7633 BRL.
In the short term BRL is driven mainly by commodity prices and central-bank policy, while CNH responds to sentiment toward China and offshore flows.
The Brazilian Real (BRL) is issued by Central Bank of Brazil. The real was introduced in 1994 to end hyperinflation; the plural is “reais”. CNH is the “offshore” version of the Chinese yuan, traded mainly in Hong Kong — hence the “H”.
Use this mid-market figure as your benchmark: compare it with the rate your bank or broker quotes, and the difference is the margin you would pay.
