Reference rate

Exchange and payment cost calculator

Enter the rate and charges disclosed for your offer. Compare the estimated result with a dated reference quote and check which costs the model includes.

What would you like to calculate?

Exchange money

Reference quotes and provider offers can differ in timing, amount and terms. A difference alone does not establish a particular fee.

Choose the source and destination currencies above. Enter your own quotes below. No provider ranking or advertised rate is assumed.

Direction and units: RSD → JPY

Offer A
Offer B

Each result = (budget − fixed fee − budget × percentage fee / 100) × quoted rate. Fees are deducted from the same total budget. Excludes recipient fees and taxes.

Card payment: local currency or home currency?

Read the worked example →

Uses the same currency pair above: source = your home currency; destination = the local currency. Enter the card conversion rate that applies to your payment and the final home-currency amount offered by the terminal.

Local-currency payment = local amount ÷ card rate × (1 + card fee / 100) + fixed card fee. A reference rate is only an estimate; settlement rates and issuer rules can differ.

One withdrawal or several?

Read the worked example →

Enter the same total cash amount for both scenarios. Uses the card rate above; the withdrawal percentage fee below replaces the purchase fee.

Your card limits (optional)

Leave a limit blank if unknown. Enter the full per-withdrawal or daily cash limit in local currency, not just today’s remaining allowance. Use a local-currency equivalent if needed. Use a decimal point without digit grouping.

These are user-entered limits, not verified card terms. The lowest known operator, card-transaction or daily limit bounds each withdrawal. Charges, denominations and the machine can impose further restrictions.

Daily periods are a lower bound, not a withdrawal schedule. The model assumes the same full limits in each period. Your issuer defines resets; an already used allowance, equal withdrawal sizes and other restrictions can require more periods. Limits apply to cash principal, not additional charges.

Model: cash / rate × (1 + percentage fee / 100), plus operator fee / rate and issuer fixed fee for each withdrawal. Excludes DCC, minimum fees, fee-free allowances and interest. Check cash limits and avoid carrying more cash than you need.

How the true cost is worked out

The model compares the whole source budget at the reference rate with the result at your entered provider rate after the entered fee. It separates the numerical rate difference from the effect of that fee. This is a comparison of entered assumptions, not a verified audit of provider charges or a guaranteed settlement amount. Other charges and quotation times can change the result.
