The Brazilian Real (BRL) is issued by Central Bank of Brazil. The real was introduced in 1994 to end hyperinflation; the plural is “reais”. The Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH) is issued by National Bank of Ukraine. The name “hryvnia” comes from a medieval silver weight unit used in Kievan Rus.
